Outdoor Worship at St. Luke’s

Greetings in Christ,

The Session has begun planning for a return to in-person worship at both the Town Church and St. Luke’s. We do not have a firm date for a return to our buildings, but we will worship together outdoors at St. Luke’s on June 14 at 10:30 am. In the event of rain, we will move back one week, to June 21. We ask everyone who can to bring their own chair. We will not have our church picnic or river float following the service. We recognize that some of you may be unable or unready to attend that service.

We don’t have the ability to stream over Zoom from St. Luke’s, but we will record the service to put online later that day. After worship, we will have a congregational conversation, which will not be recorded, in which the Session will present our plans for resuming regular in-person gatherings. We want to hear your thoughts and ideas on how and when we may safely come back together. If you will not be attending the service on June 14, but still wish to contribute to the conversation, we invite you to write to Pastor Rob, either at the church by US Mail, or via email at pastor@romneypresbyterianchurch.org. After the service, I will send another letter to report on the conversation.

While we will be unable to live-stream the service from St. Luke’s, regular services from the Town Church will continue to be accessible over Zoom and posted online Sunday afternoon for the foreseeable future, even if some of us return to the building. As always, you can find the most up-to-date information on our website, the online church calendar, and our Facebook page.

The Church Office remains open with reduced hours, Tuesdays, 9 am to 1 pm. You can call during those hours or leave a message on the church phone, 340-822-5083. I check the mailbox and voicemail throughout the week. You can also email me at pastor@romneypresbyterianchurch.org.

Earlier today (May 26, 2020), Dottie and I also sent this information by US Mail to everyone for whom we have an address on file. If you don’t receive it in the next few weeks, please consider contacting the church office about updating your address for our records.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Rob
